If one saddle isn't enough adventure, the 3-in-1 combo adds a Can-Am ATV run and a cenote swim to the ride — about 5 hours for $84, with kids joining from age 6. Same ranch country, three very different thrills. No. These rides are built for first-timers. Every tour opens with a safety briefing and a short lesson on mounting, steering and stopping, and the horses are trail-trained animals that work with guests every day. Guides ride with the group the whole way and keep the pace at a walk, and they match each horse to your size and confidence.
Jungle and ranch trails run through shaded Mayan forest and open clearings — cooler, greener, and easy to pair with a cenote swim or an ATV run on the same property. Beach rides trade the shade for open sand and ocean views, and tend to be shorter and more photo-driven. Most routes around Cancún and the Riviera Maya are ranch-and-jungle based, which is why the combo pages exist.
Long pants and closed shoes — no sandals, no exceptions. Bring sunscreen, water and a hat, and leave loose jewelry behind. Age and weight limits depend on the ranch and on which horses are working that day, so check the specific tour page before you book.
