FAQ
It's the classic Nichupté lagoon trip: you drive your own two-seat speedboat in convoy through the mangrove channels behind the Hotel Zone, come out into open water, and finish with a guided snorkel stop on the reef. The name is misleading — the "jungle" is mangrove, and the real draw is that you're at the wheel instead of sitting on a big catamaran.
No. A guide briefs the group on throttle, steering and the convoy rules, then leads from the front boat while a second guide closes the line. Boats are small and slow through the channels by law, and you only open up in the open stretch. One adult drives; the second seat is a passenger, and you can swap at the reef stop if both of you want a turn.
Gear is included. The reef sits inside a protected marine park, and the environmental fee is sometimes charged separately at the dock depending on the operator — the tour page states which applies before you pay. Bring reef-safe sunscreen only; regular sunscreen is restricted in the marine park and can be refused at check-in.
